Scope
Basketball court facility comprising the playing court, spectator/bleacher areas, player and officials' facilities, ancillary rooms, and supporting architectural, mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.
Structural System
Structural steel framing system designed to provide a clear-span basketball court, with steel roof trusses or rigid frames supporting the roof system. Reinforced concrete foundations and floor slab support the structure and associated loads. Lateral loads are resisted through a ductile steel framing system with appropriate bracing and/or moment-resisting frames, as applicable. The structural system is designed to accommodate basketball court occupancy, spectator loads, wind loads, and seismic forces in accordance with the applicable structural code requirements.
